Here in Germany, Easter Sunday is the time to hide Easter eggs and small presents in gardens, houses – just about anywhere. But where does the story of the Easter bunny come from? Is it just a German idea or is it an international phenomenon?
Comfortable and popular: cotton. Everyone wears cotton garments: whether it’s jeans or a jersey – in organic quality or conventional cotton. It is a great and versatile material that we simply cannot do without. In recent years, organic cotton has started to play an increasingly important role – and not only for tree-huggers and “ecos”. More and more fashion labels have their own organic collections, and manufacturers of baby carriers are doing the same – in many cases, a special organic collection is offered.
At manduca, however, there is no extra organic collection – we just use certified organic cotton for all our manduca products. That sounds like a good thing. And it is! Organic cotton has many advantages – here is a list of the most important organic cotton benefits:
Skin-friendly and natural: the cotton used for manduca Sling is certified organic.
I probably have told you almost everything about the MaM Cold Weather Insert: It is warm. It is cosy. It can be worn separately or beneath a jacket. And you know already that this babywearing cover comes from Finland and is made with recycled material. But there is one thing I might not have pointed out enough: this cover is extremely practical, as it works with snap buttons. And snap buttons are – along with zippers – an ingenious invention!
The fleece cover Cold Weather Insert keeps your neck warm and cosy.
What has a PET bottle to do with a babywearing cover or jacket? A lot – at least in case of our manduca by MaM babywearing covers. We are talking about upcycling, the creative utilization of “waste” by turning them into new products. Combining resource conservation with creativity, upcycling has been a trend for some years. The producers of our manduca by MaM babywearing cover and jackets, too, have become upcyclers: For some of their products they use PET bottles in the production process.
The time before Christmas is the perfect time to treat yourself with a little extra. And this is just what we have done: We have produced a very special doll that is not only cute but also comes with a mini-manduca. And when some days ago the first delivery from Spain arrived here in Marburg, the babywearing doll was given a name, too: manduca Lia.
Have you seen our manduca #lovethechange motifs yet? In parenting magazines, on our manduca facebook page or in your favourite shop? Do you start wondering now, and ask yourself between changing diapers and massaging bellies: “Are you serious? How can babywearing be “awesome”?” Or have you recognized yourself, and we have hit the bullseye with our claim #lovethechange?
manduca – love the change: And suddenly everything’s changed
